In the context of an entrepreneurs travel - organised by the Magdeburg Chamber of Handicrafts and the Saxony Anhalt Ministry of Economics to establish cooperations with the Russian Altai region - a cooperation agreement has been completed.
As a result the Training Association of Home Automation Saxony Anhalt will initiate and escort several activities for the exchange of apprentices, international youth camps and the advanced training for teachers.
Preparing the activities a staff member of the Bijsk German-Rusian House will temporary work at the Training Association in Magdeburg to implement the intended projects.
The Altai Krai is a federal subject of Russia in the Siberian Federal District.
In the western part the Altai Krai borders on Eastern Kazakhstan, in the north and south-east it borders with Novosibirsk and Kemerovo regions, in the south-east part it borders with the Altai republic. The history of russian urbanisation startet in the 2nd half of the 17th century. Russians represent the most part of the population.
In the region of the Kulunda Steppe next to the Kazakhstan border the German National circle Halbstadt was founded in 1991 which was intended to be an alternative for emigration of the German root population which settled there around the year 1900. In the meantime also German root resettlers from other parts of Russia found a new homeland.
Industry is the major sector of the Altai territory economy and it comprises the biggest part in the territory budget revenues. About 40% of the gross regional product is provided by 2000 industrial companies of the Altai territory where 400 companies are big and middle.
The major field in the economy development of the Altai territory is mining industry, complex ore mining development. Tourism shall be also developed within the next years.
